Welcome to Big Red Softball Academy!

Bowlin Stadium

The home of Nebraska Softball is located in Haymarket Park only a half mile west of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. The 2004 SportsTurf Managers Association Field of the Year holds up to 2,500 fans. The largest crowd consisted of 1,960 against Texas in 2011. Since the opening of the stadium in 2001 the Huskers have won more than 70 percent of their games at Bowlin Stadium thanks to support from Husker Nation. Nebraska has been ranked in the top 10 nationally in attendance in seven of the 11 seasons since Bowlin Stadium opened. Bowlin Stadium has allowed Nebraska to serve as an NCAA Regional host in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2007. This year Bowlin Stadium will host the first ever Big Ten Softball Conference Tournament since the new conference realignments in 2011.

“BOWLIN STADIUM IS A BEAUTIFUL VENUE FOR BOTH THE ATHLETES AND THE FANS. IT IS SET UP TO EMBRACE THE TEAM CONCEPT, AS THE FANS ARE RIGHT NEXT TO US, ENCIRCLING US WITH THEIR SUPPORT. AND NOW WE HAVE OUR VERY OWN INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY RIGHT NEXT TO OUR FIELD AND LOCKER ROOM. I AM GRATEFUL THAT OUR ADMINISTRATION VALUES OUR SPORT ENOUGH TO BUILD ONE OF THE PREMIER FACILITIES IN THE COUNTRY.” – HEAD COACH RHONDA REVELLE

The Alex Gordon Training Complex

Past the right field fence of Bowlin Stadium and adjacent to the Softball Offices in Haymarket Park is the newly completed $4.75 million dollar indoor practice facility. The 18,000 square foot facility designed for Nebraska Softball and Baseball programs can utilize as many as six batting cages. The cages can also be retracted to use the field turn for defensive practices and live game situations.
